This is a continuation of a part 1, which you can read here.
In my last post, I recounted a terrifying dream I had a month ago, where we were savagely attacked by a lion.
The final note I had was that the bigger issue in this dream was that I did not know how to use my sword to fight against it.
I am so convinced right now that more than ever, we need to know the word of God to be able to fight well and not be weakened by spiritual atmospheres, confusing ideas, lofty thoughts etc.
I recently had a phone chat with a friend where she shared how being a Christian had been increasingly testing for her, as her environment is so contrastingly secular to her usual norm. She mentioned that some friends had left the faith altogether!
My heart was so heavy because of this news, and I spoke with God about it. I realised that the world is becoming more and more polarised in the sense that You are on the Jesus side, or you are on the world side. That is not a new thing, it's always been there. Jesus said that we're either for Him or against Him. There's no sitting on the fence, it's Jesus or the devil, and the fence is the devil's territory also.
God has really shaken me awake to the reality that we are in a war zone.
Only the strong will stand to the end, and only the ones who know the word will be strong. So we should be reading the word like our lives depend on it, because they really do.
How much of our thinking, or our philosophies are in contradiction to the word of God?
If you don't know what is true, then you won't know what is a lie.
How many Christians are living a tired, run down life, when they could be accessing so much more if they understood what Jesus has made available to us?!
My husband and I have recently come to the realisation that there is so much more that Jesus wants us to be living in, but we just never asked questions or really intentionally looked for answers in there.
But we are promised JOY for a start - not depression.
POWER, LOVE, A SOUND MIND - not fear.
PROVISION - not lack.
COMFORT AND RELATIONSHIP - not loneliness.
HEALING - not sickness
LIFE - not death (yes, we believe Jesus still raises the dead!)
ENERGY - not weariness
PURPOSE - not "meaninglessness
A CHILD OF GOD - Not an unwanted, unprotected individual
FAITH THAT MOVES MOUNTAINS - we are the head and not the tail.
GRACE AND FAITH to do ANYTHING.
Oh there is SO much! If only we knew!
The devil is also known as the father of lies. We combat that with truth. The Truth sets you free - it's in the Bible. Get truth.
While the world is a swirl,
and people may call you crazy,
decide to stand.
